We’re pleased to announce the addition Clara Rowe as an instructor/leader for the ITEC portion of the course. She has worked with groups similar to our in the past. Clara has knowledge of, and practical experience in, tropical forest ecology and coral reef ecology. She is fluent in Spanish, and she will share her experience in working in Latin America in conservation and sustainable agriculture. She will fully join our group and support students in individual and small group projects while at ITEC. Below see a short Bio for her
Clara was born in New Hampshire and grew up in Monteverde, Costa Rica. She studied biology at Amherst College (2007-2011), and then spent several years working in fishery management and youth development in Latin America and West Africa before getting her masters in Environmental Management at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (2013-2015). Clara is now the Head for Mexico and Central America at the Earthworm Foundation (previously The Forest Trust). The Earthworm Foundation is a global non-profit organization that works to promote sustainable agricultural supply chains. Clara is a climber, a scuba diver, a big fan of New Yorker cartoons, and an avid card player. She is currently living in Mexico City.
